• no currents (apart from reef passes in 3 km distance) and no sharks
• water temperature all year between 23 and 28° C!

• constant winds all year round, mainly from south-east; from June-October: 4-6 Bft. (6 kitedays a week in average), from Nov.-May: 3-5 Bft. (3,5 kitedays a week in average)

Summary: this is the place for both, learning kitesurfing in a relaxed, beautiful and safe private beach and for all the challenges the advanced rider might look for. Especially the combination of flat-like-glass areas with the breathtaking reefwave just around the corner makes Poste Lafajette the perfect spot for everyone. There are not a lot of places that offer conditions like that with no major hassle - such as sharks, currents, shallow reefs or agressive locals - not on Mauritius and not in the world. If we get a very stable high pressure situation (likely between Dec. and April) the wind could be a bit weak for a couple of days. In this case our local Kiteteacher will take you to other spots on the island that have wind-acceleration. In this way you and your partner can explore the most beautiful places and still kite in nice and safe conditions, while an experienced teacher will look after you. Mauritus is a luxury destination, yet, with the La COlombiere Kitesurf Residence we can offer you affordable accomodation right on the spot. If you are after some evening entertainment you can visit one of the hotels of the area - some of them amongst the highest rated houses in the world and really worth a visit. In that way you can explore the luxury flair and the entertainment programs offered (many life bands) without paying the full load. Grand Baie - 30 taximinutes away - offers a choice of pubs restaurants and discotheques, and it´s a pleasure for us to meet you there and have a beer or two. But be warned: we heard of people who missed their flight home because of the fine local rum or some island-beauty or the combination of the two.
